Seamless inert gas sample transfer workflow

Sample preparation for scanning/transmission electron microscopy (S/TEM) analysis is one of the most critical and time-consuming tasks in a multi-scale, multi-modal battery research workflow. Optimal sample preparation and sample transfer between various instruments without compromising sample integrity is crucial for any microscopic material analysis. If the sample is air- or moisture-sensitive, like lithium, this can be an even more challenging process.

The Thermo Scientific™ Inert Gas Sample Transfer (IGST) Workflow uses tools like the Thermo Scientific CleanConnect™ Sample Transfer System to allow you to focus on your research rather than worry about degradation of the sample. The CleanConnect System is compatible with a variety of scanning electron microscopes (SEMs) and DualBeam™ systems to enable seamless, results-focused workflows.

Automation systems for OES and XRF spectrometers

Our company was first to recognize the opportunities in the metals and mining industries for automated sample preparation and analysis as part of quality control processes. Since the mid-1980s, this has led to the design and development of a range of flexible automation systems integrating the most advanced technologies and productivity enhancement tools, such as robots.

We have continued to enhance our automation solutions for optical emission spectrometers (OES) and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometers to meet your stringent needs. Today, the Thermo Scientific™ series of SMS automation systems span the entire metal and mining industry spectrum—from large aluminum smelters to modern steel works, including foundries and metals processors with varied capacities and needs.
